So I think we should kill Mary MacDonald.

I mean, we did all right last night. She couldn't be that much harder to kill than the Muggles, right?

Some people clearly have too much free time on their hands.

[Private to SWARM]
Xander, I don't know what you're doing with that Nina Boot girl, but she warded to all the girls on the journal network asking them what she should do about you. Tacita said she was talking about you like she fancies you and she even brought up dating and marriage. It sounds like it was all very inappropriate.

What are you doing with that girl?

And has anyone managed a successful crucio yet?

I have no idea what would constitute valuable information to the Dark Lord that is not just the same information everyone else is capable of providing. Perhaps I might find something of use at St. Mungo's but I doubt I would be able to determine much Healer Travers could not report himself. And I do not even know if there are other healers among the Dark Lord's ranks at the hospital. Healer Parkinson, perhaps? I do not think this list is the extent of it.

I do have my list of those who have spoken out against the Death Eaters in the journal and it would be a simple matter to update it, but again, that is information that is readily available.

I envy the others. They seem to know so much more about all of this than I do. Xander and Evan especially. Even Severus seems to be taking this all in stride. Truthfully I do not want to talk to Father about these things but I am finding it difficult to keep this from Tas. I hate keeping secrets from her. And I am not terribly good at it either. She would be able to help me figure out what I could possibly report back.

I certainly did not expect that we would be allowed onto the wards so soon into our training but under the circumstances it has become a matter of just needing everyone available, I think. Although I did find this morning's impromptu session on how to make yourself useful without getting in the way to be surprisingly informative. I am glad to at least be able to be of some use. I only wish my first experience being allowed in the same room as the patients was not under such unfortunate circumstances.

I think I want to die.

Could you- find something to say to Father for why I'm in bed all day?

Or never coming out of my room again?

Preferably not something about how I made a complete fool of myself in front of Rodolphus, Rabastan and their friends?

I think they managed to get a bludger in my head. Somehow.

[Private to SWARM]
I'm sorry. Does anyone have a hangover potion they can owl?

This might seem like a rather odd question, but did anyone else receive a visit from Mr Dolohov late last night?

Elliot, judging by MacDonald's entry from last night, I say it's your duty to make as much noise as possible around her desk this morning. Or find something really noxious smelling to put in her garbage bin.

Although we should get together for drinks of our own this weekend.

I was worried that another three years of training after Hogwarts would be unpleasant but I find I am genuinely enjoying healer training. Even just two days into training, I am certain this was the right career path for me. I can't imagine doing anything else and there's something unseemly about able-bodied, unemployed men.

[Private to SWARM]
So under the circumstances, it's probably not so appropriate to try and declare a winner in the 'how much longer does the Branstone woman have to live' question. But does anyone have any guesses about what the hell happened? The Prophet made it sound like Branstone knocked Dieter out first but then the killing curse was cast at her... Do you think he just managed to kill her before he died? And how did some Muggle loving woman who couldn't even find a husband for herself manage to kill Dieter Lestrange?

And do you think he was one of the Death Eaters?

[Private to Tacita]
Are we still having dinner with Mr Nott for the Averys tonight? In light of what happened to Uncle Dieter... I wasn't sure. I still can't wrap my head around it all.

And is his house really called Nott's Landing?

[Private to Lestranges]
I'm sorry. Uncle Dieter was a good man.

[Private to '78 Slytherin Boys (who need a better name)]
I went back through all of the journal entries this morning and all of the comments and put together a list of the people publicly agreeing with the Branstone article, or at least the sentiments if not the tone/method. It was one of the more painful experiences in recent memory and now I have a headache. I did start skimming after reading through a hundred comments of the Prewetts writing nonsense back and forth so if I missed anything let me know.

Public Idiots:
Mary McDonald - no surprise there. With any luck she'll end up on someone else's list and we won't have to deal with her again.
Sirius Black - again, not surprising.
James Potter
Marlene McKinnon
Rosalind Bungs
Dinah Turpin
Doris Crockford
Hippocrates Smethwyck - agrees but later calls her stupid.
Amelia Bones
Maebh Finnigan
Iona Ridgebit
Oliver Bones
